Antebellum Media Stand Review

I got this TV stand for my guest room. The finish was nicer than I thought. All the pieces were there, and I assembled this whole thing in less than 2 hours. I have never put together furniture in my life, but I didn't want to wait for my husband to do it. The directions were perfectly clear and only needed a screwdriver to build. The stand is fairly heavy, very sturdy. I put a 42 inch flat screen TV on it, and it looks beautiful, and is a great fit. The cable box fits on one of the adjustable shelves. There is a hole for all the cords & cables to run through the back, so it's nice & neat. I love this TV stand. Oh and my guestroom furniture is a Broyhill collection, and it seems to have a better quality finish than the Broyhill, but it matches nicely with it.

Southern Enterprises Antebellum Two-Tone Media Stand Review

Decent stand. Looks about as nice as you can get for the price.
Everything in this price range is Medium Density Fiberboard and the product is properly labeled here as MDF with Veneer. ANything solid wood is gonna cost more than twice as much. The veneer basically means all of the touchable surfaces after assembly are wood with fiber cores (except possibly the middle shelves). The down side of the MDF is that it's pretty heavy and less durable than wood of course.

Even expecting and knowing the limitations of MDF there are a few things they could have done a bit better. Because of the MDF it's not really sturdy enough to use an electric screwdriver on the pre-drilled holes. And it's often difficult to tell when using an electric screwdriver when the screw is all the way in and if you keep going it can tear the wood. On the other hand, most of the connections are drilled for you with bits to screw into, with the notable exception of the magnets that hold the doors closed. It would have been nice if they were pre-drilled.

The magnets are also a little too high to make a good seal with the metal plate on the doors. It really needs a spacer or something above the magnet to make both parts of the magnet connect solidly with the door. The result is that you have to shut the doors very gently otherwise they bounce open again.

I also feel that the cable hole is not quite big enough int he back. If you have multiple component or composite cables that need to go through it gets a bit tight. If all you have is a few power cables and hdmi, you're probably fine.

I kind of wish it had two shelves int he middle instead of one, but that's mostly because it's hard to stack things on top of a ps3...

I also kind of wish there was a thicker solid backing instead of a thin sheet, but it does serve it's purpose and that would make it heavier.

That said it does hold my 80lb 55" TV very well and looks very nice. (The TV has a thin bezel so it's a few inches narrower than the stand.) I did a ton of searching for a two-tone piece that would match my other furniture and this fit the bill. I wish there were more furniture with this visual style.

Monoprice 108576 17-Inch to 37-Inch Ultra-SLIM Adjustable Tilting/Swiveling TV Wall Mount Bracket for LCD/LED/Plasma TV Review

Just installed this mount for a 39" LED. Mount on back of TV is very unobtrusive - fits flat and hardly notice it. There are no adjustable mounting bars sticking out the sides as commonly seen on other two-stud mounts. My TV weighs ~17 lbs - this mount seems to support it very well with no sag or wobble.

Could be improved by adding more mounting hole slots - the ones provided seem to be oddly spaced for 16" OC stud spacing. Nevertheless, the brackets are easily drilled.

Plastic bracket covers are a nice feature at this price point. They cover the screws and slotted mounting bracket, making it look a bit less "industrial" than other mounts in the <$125 price range. The arms are die-cast aluminum, which also give this mount a more finished appearance.

The only cable management provided is a simple plastic clip at the bottom - barely adequate for decent sized component video, audio, and RF cable - but probably more than enough for one or two HDMI cables.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this mount, given it's price.

This tv stand was pretty hard to put together, the screw holes on mine were off pretty far and i had to push very hard at times to get them to line up. i honestly was going to send it back because i was afraid i'd damage it, but kept pushing & luckily it seems ok & very sturdy.

After putting it together I was surpised at how good it looked even though my cords in the back are exposed. After I put it together, I was surprised to find one of the corners was a little damaged. the paint was chipped and it looks like it's a little dented. i was very careful about putting it together, but i can't be sure i didn't do it myself.

Now that it's all together, it's hard to see the little ding & I don't have to worry about the screws anymore, I'm very satisfied. It seems very sturdy and I think it's going to last a long time.

Sloan 62" Corner TV Stand Review

Pros:
The stand looks great and feels solid.
Assembly is really simple, 30 minutes for 1 person.
A lot of useful shelf space.
Rear wall has a cutout in the middle for cable management.

Cons:
Packaging is really bad, 1cm of foam on the ends. Both the original stand and the replacement arrived damaged. I had to fix the parts before assembling.
There is not much ventilation, I'll probably have to drill a bunch of holes in the rear wall.
