I bought this cable to connect my laptop to an LCD TV, and the first problem I encountered was fitting the VGA connector to the rear of my TV. It physically wouldn't fit because the plastic surrounding the VGA connection on the adapter was so big it hit the plastic surrounding the TV's VGA input.

My solution: I bought a smaller-profile VGA extension cord that -- as well as connecting to this DisplayPort-VGA adapter -- fit well into the TV.

My advice is: Eyeball the rear of your display and make sure that this cable will physically fit before you buy it. If not, you may want to take the course of action I mentioned above.
