My Nintendo Wii only supports AV (RCA-type) connectivity to the television. So when we upgraded our TV we could not re-connect the unit because there were no such ports any more! This ingenious device plugs into the standard port at the back of the Wii unit and allows one to run an HDMI cable to the TV. I am mightily impressed that this little device cheaply fixes this connectivity oversight/problem so conveniently. I don't really notice an improvement in the picture display or audio quality per se, but that is not why this was purchased AND I can confidently report there is certainly no degradation. In summary, if you wish to connect your Wii to a TV's HDMI port, then this product is exactly what you need; I am thoroughly happy with it.
