First off, I read the reviews before purchasing. Now, to me, most of the unhappy folks seemed to not know a whole lot about computers/computer settings, etc... (Not to be insulting) The converter works just fine. The price is amazing. I got the VGA connection, & HDMI cord along with this box. The KEY is to have your DISPLAY SETTINGS set correctly. The setting that works best on MOST TVs is 1280x720 under your display settings & screen resolution settings. AS long as you set the box up CORRECTLY it WILL work just fine! And again, you can't beat the price! I looked at similar converters for over $100. I am very happy I found this. BTW, I have a TV that is only a 1 1/2, my son's laptop that is being used with this is an updated Toshiba with a shell that is about 3-4 yrs old. Don't let some of the reviews scare you away! This is a good deal. :)
