I needed a way to convert the output from my satellite dish (the secondary signal send out over the coax cable) to an HDMI output and this fit the bill nicely. I ended up hooking the coax to an old VCR and using the analog tuner on that to generate the RCA composite output, which I then fed into this box, which converted it to a 1080p HDMI output. Given that the original signal was standard definition, I didn't lose anything in the process and was very pleased with how crisp the output was.

While I would have hoped to find something a little less expensive to do this, this was still a third of the price of the full tuner/up-converter device that was the alternative solution that I found.
