Performance

USB to HDMI Video & Audio adapters work by rendering 2D/3D with your computer's CPU and GPU, and then compressing and transmitting the pixels that change over USB. Connectivity

The adapter package includes the main HDMI to USB adapter, a USB 2.0 cable and hardware adapters for the different connector types HDMI TO DVI). USB graphics devices with different chipset drivers (MCT, SMSC, DisplayLink, etc.) should not be mixed on the same system.

I bought this to set up a 3rd monitor. It was not plug and play and didn't want to load. I finally got it to load on the "last try before I send it back". I quickly figured out that it did not activate when the computer came on. The only way to get it to work seemed to be unplugging in from the computer and plugging it back in. After about a week of that, I called Sabrent. They informed me that plugging and unplugging it from the computer could cause a short in my computer and I shouldn't do that. They also said it needed to be returned to Amazon and there was nothing they could do to help. Basically, this was a waste. The product never really worked as advertised and turns out that it can kill my laptop. There doesn't seem to be any point in plugging in something that is going to fry my laptop. I am definitely looking for another option.

* I noticed that the other person who hated it was also running Win 7 64 bit so maybe it just doesn't work with that operating system.
